London Has Fallen

Release date: March 4

Plot: Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves London in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) springs into action.

Go see it because: It’s a proper popcorn action movie you can enjoy without thinking too much.

Hail, Caesar!

Release date: March 4

Plot: A Hollywood fixer in the 1950s works to keep the studio’s stars in line.

Go see it because: It’s the latest release from genius siblings, the Coen Brothers, for heaven’s sake.

Anomalisa

Release date: March 11

Plot: In what could be the most human movie ever to not contain any humans, we follow a promotional speaker crippled by the dullness of his life. Then, he experiences something extraordinary.

Go see it because: It comes directly from Charlie Kaufman’s brilliant mind.

Kung Fu Panda 3

Release date: March 11

Plot: Po’s ‘legendary adventures of awesomeness’ continue as the kung fu fighting panda takes on a supernatural foe.  

Go see it because: Good, clean, kick-ass fun for kids of any age.

Traders

Release date: March 11

Plot: Executives that were affected by the Irish economic crash create a high-stakes game where the victor takes more than the loser’s money.

Go see it because: It stars actors from two of your favourite television shows (Killian Scott – Love/Hate & John Bradley – Game of Thrones).

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Release date: March 11

Plot: Teens in a dystopian future investigate a mysterious agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

Go see it because: If you need to scratch that itch The Hunger Games left behind, then this could be the movie for you.

Fifty Shades Of Black

Release date: March 11

Plot: Basically, it’s a piss-take of Fifty Shades of Grey

Go see it because: If this is your thing, then it’s your thing.

The Witch

Release date: March 11

Plot: A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.

Go see it because: The Witch’s trailer is terrifying. Seriously, seriously scary. Can you imagine what the movie will be like?

Sing Street

Release date: March 17

Plot: It’s 1980s Ireland and a young Dub wants to win the heart of a fair maiden. How should he do that? With music and lots of hairspray, of course.

Go see it because: It’s superb and everyone should support great Irish cinema.

10 Cloverfield Lane

Release date: March 17

Plot: A young woman wakes up from a car accident and finds herself in the basement of a man who insists that he saved her from the outside world which is now uninhabitable.

Go see it because: It look like an incredibly tense viewing experience, that’s why.

The Boy

Release date: March 17

Plot: An American nanny is tasked with looking after a life-sized doll whose owners believe is a real boy.

Go see it because: Finally, proof that porcelain dolls are the creepiest things on the planet.

High-Rise

Release date: March 17

Plot: Think 1984 in a high-rise building.

Go see it because: It will be unbelievably interesting to see how director Ben Wheatley creates the terrifying world from J.G. Ballard’s novel.

Norm Of The North

Release date: March 17

Plot: A polar bear and his three lemming mates are forced to move to New York City in an attempt to win their home back.

Go see it because: If you’re babysitting and you’ve already seen Kung Fu Panda 3 27 times, then this could be the one for you.

Rock The Kasbah

Release date: March 18

Plot: A down-on-his-luck music manager discovers a teenage girl with an extraordinary voice while on a music tour in Afghanistan and takes her to Kabul to compete on the popular television show, Afghan Star.

Go see it because: It stars Bill Murray. Need we say more?

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Release date: March 25

Plot: Fearing the powers both hold, these two superheros go to war.

Go see it because: To finally solve the ancient ‘who would win in a fight’ question.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Release date: March 25

Plot: Following on from the incredibly popular 2002 original, it’s time for another Greek wedding.

Go see it because: This time it’s meant to be even bigger AND even fatter.

Welcome To Me

Release date: March 25

Plot: An unstable woman wins the lottery and buys her own talk show.

Go see it because: It looks great. Also, it proves that James Marsden’s acting capability isn’t confined to ‘the guy who loses the girl.’

Zootropolis

Release date: March 25

Plot: A fugitive fox and a rookie bunny must combine to uncover a massive crime.

Go see it because: The results are in and this awesome animal-packed adventure is already getting rave reviews. We can’t wait to see it.
