Details about the new Star Wars film have been even harder to find than a Wookie barber but with only a few weeks until Episode VII: The Force Awakens is released, some small details are beginning to emerge.

The absence of Luke Skywalker from the promotional images and trailers has led some fans to question the future of Tatooine’s most beloved son and it seems that the man himself has been speaking.

A long time ago (not in a galaxy far, far away), movie fans didn’t have instant access to news but Twitter has meant that droids like R2-D2 are no longer needed to carry information.

Hamill has now pretty much confirmed a role in Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII but the big question is whether or not Luke will be alive in that one.

It’s very possible that he will could appear as a ‘force ghost’, just like fellow Jedi’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda did in Return of the Jedi.

We must have patience, young Padawan.
