Plenty to choose from while sitting in on your Thursday evening!
Before we get to tonight’s viewing menu, why not check out the list of 20 big movies that Prime Video has just added to its library?
You can also start planning our viewing schedule for the entire bank holiday weekend, as we’ve put together the full list of all the new shows and movies coming to cinemas and streaming services over the next few days.
But for now, on with the movies on TV for tonight, Thursday 27 October, starting with…
Bumblebee – FilmFour – 6.45pm
The best of the Transformers movies (don’t @ me) is set in the 1980s, with a teenage girl (Hailee Steinfeld) realising her new car is actual an alien robot. Very big Back To The Future vibes.
Lethal Weapon 4 – TCM – 9pm
Literally getting too old for this shit, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return for this fourquel, facing off against bad guy Jet Li.
The Mist – FilmFour – 9pm
One of the best Stephen King adaptations of all time, complete with absolutely jaw-dropping finale.
Rambo – ITV4 – 10pm
The one where Sylvester Stallone decimates the population of Burma.
American Gigolo – FilmFour – 11.25pm
The writer of Taxi Driver and the producer of The Rock team up for this crime drama about a high-priced escort (Richard Gere) who becomes a prime suspect in a murder case. Features an incredible soundtrack by Giorgio Moroder and Blondie.
US Marshals – TCM – 11.40pm
The dodgy sequel to The Fugitive ditches Harrison Ford but keeps Tommy Lee Jones as the criminal-chaser, this time paired with Robert Downey Jr. to capture a supposed assassin (Wesley Snipes) who escaped a plane crash that was transporting him to prison.
Don’t Look Now – BBC Four – 12am
Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie try to work through the grief of their recently deceased young daughter by travelling to Venice, but soon find themselves tormented by potentially supernatural events. Considered to be one of the greatest horror movies of all time.
Train To Busan – FilmFour – 1.45am
Our pick for the night is this intense and terrifying zombie horror movie, set almost entirely on a train travelling from Seoul to Busan in Korea. The passengers on board come to learn that a zombie apocalypse is happening in the country, and each stop the automated train takes brings them one step closer to being killed by the undead hordes.
94% on Rotten Tomatoes (practically unheard of in the genre of modern horror), this truly is one of the best zombie movies of all time and is definitely worth checking out. If you happen to be up late to watch it, that is…
