A fitting year to see an Irish classic.
20 years after its release, Neil Jordan’s movie about one of the most important figures in Irish history, Michael Collins, will be making a return to Irish cinemas in a new digital format on March 18 of this year.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of its release in Irish Cinemas and the Centenary of the 1916 Rising, Audi Dublin International Film Festival will host a special event screening of Neil Jordan’s Michael Collins, the definitive film of Ireland’s struggle for independence.

The premiere screening will take on Saturday, February 20 at the Savoy Cinema on O’Connell Street, which will be attended by Neil Jordan and cinematographer Chris Menges and will be followed by an on stage Q&A.
Some of the 4,000 extras who took part in the film are also expected to attend.
A 20th anniversary re-mastered DVD, with a specially recorded intro and commentary from Neil Jordan, will be available on DVD and Blu Ray from March 4.
