It’s a big week for Kerry with the All-Ireland coming up and, before the big showdown on Sunday, they only have to go and play host to movie royalty.
You may have heard already, but Star Wars VIII is being filmed in Skellig Michael, just off the coast of Kerry, this week.
The aul’ classic incremental Irish weather meant that the first day of shooting was a washout, literally. Since then, though, filming has been going ahead and some exciting tweets have been posted in the midst of it all…

Reports of Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 sightings have been rumoured, as Mark Hamill and regular Doctor Who actor Jimmy Vee have supposedly reported to the set.
