The Force is strong with this one.
If you’ve seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens then you probably left the cinema with a few questions. For example; why was Rey abandoned on Jakku, who are her parents and where the the hell did Poe Dameron disappear to after he crashed his TIE fighter?
We already provided a few theories to those questions here but one area that really wasn’t talked about much in the aftermath of Episode VII was the Skywalker family lineage and how it might be connected to the new big bad villain of the saga, Supreme Leader Snoke of The First Order.

To begin with, cast your mind back to The Phantom Menace where we’re told that Anakin was conceived via the Force, basically his mam Shmi didn’t get freaky with any men on Tatooine.
Now skip ahead to Episode III where a moody, emo and lovesick Anakin is starting to fall under the influence of Chancellor Palpatine/The Emperor.
In the memorable scene below, Palpatine tells the story of Darth Plagueis who was “a dark lord of the Sith so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create… life”.
As Star Wars fans know, The Emperor ultimately betrayed Darth Plagueis and killed him, however, as the clip also mentions, Plagueis does have the ability to cheat death.
As we said before, there’s a striking similarity between how Darth Plagueis is represented in the Star Wars novels and how Supreme Leader Snoke appears in The Force Awakens.
Are they the same person?

If this theory is true, it basically implies that Plagueis/Snoke has been always been one of the most important characters in the Star Wars saga because he actually created Anakin/Darth Vader and therefore all of the future Skywalkers from Luke/Leia to Ben Solo and potentially Rey (if you believe she’s Luke’s daughter).
Why can he feel ‘the Force awakening’ in the movie? It’s because he’s far more Force sensitive than any other character in the saga and after patiently waiting to rule the galaxy, he now feels a very real threat to his power.
To be clear, this is just a theory but it’s an interesting one.
