Episode VIII also gets a writer.
By the beard of a bantha!
JOE has the patience of a Wookie when it comes to waiting to see the new Star Wars film, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, but we’ve somehow refrained from ripping off anyone’s arms like Chewbacca would.
J.J Abrams is currently using his creative force to put the finishing touches on that film but news has just reached us from a galaxy far, far away, or Empire if you must know, of the new title for the standalone Star Wars film
‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ will be falling into formation on December 16, 2016 under the guidance of Monsters and Godzilla director Gareth Edwards.
That’s not all though because ‘The Theory of Everything’ star Felicity Jones has been first confirmed as the first official cast member for the film.
Star Wars fans can already imagine what this spin-off film might be about. Bloody great big X-Wings battling with Tie Fighters in space. Bring it on!
Disney have also stated that Star Wars Episode VIII will come out on May 26, 2017 and that Rian Johnson, of Looper and Breaking Bad fame, will write the script as well as direct it.
You don’t need to use the Jedi mind trick to know that this date is exactly 40 years and a day after the release of the original Star Wars in 1977.
After hearing this news there’s only one thing that can possible make it any better.
