These are our 5 favourite festive films to watch over Christmas

Tony Cuddihy

Just like Santa, we’re going to give you a little Christmas present and tell you about some of our favourite Christmas films.

Welcome to the party pal!

Die Hard

Let’s be honest, it’s not Christmas without a trip to Nakatomi Plaza.

Superb one liners, great action scenes and one of most-iconic villains in Hans Gruber, played brilliantly by the much-missed Alan Rickman. It’s a bonafide classic.

Yippee ki-yay!

Home Alone

How can you top John McClane? Easy, you take an 8-year-old kid and pair him up against two of the most inept, bumbling and hilarious criminals of all-time.

Home Alone is one of those films that transports you back to your childhood, but the best thing about it is that you still find yourself laughing at the same jokes over and over.

“Keep the change you filthy animal!”

Home Alone 2

KEVIN!

Yep, they did it again. The McAllister’s might be the most negligent parents in the history of cinema, but the sequel has just as many traps, injuries and hilarious moments as the first.

We defy anyone not to laugh at this scene with Marv.

Miracle on 34th Street

Would you believe that there are some people that think Santa isn’t real!?!?! Bah Humbug to them!

If you’re in need of some Christmas spirit – and the mince pies just won’t cut it – look no further than this heartwarming tale of a lawyer and a little girl who must prove that Santa exists.

A Muppet Christmas Carol

Speaking of Scrooge, it’s impossible not to love Michael Caine’s take on the famous Christmas crank.

Let Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of The Muppets, guide you through a classic Christmas tale that’s fun for everyone.
