#TRAILERCHEST : The new Robin Hood film is unlike any other take on the character

Paul Moore

Like a mix of Assassin’s Creed, Arrow and Game of Thrones. Interesting.

If Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was famous for Alan Rickman’s wonderful performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham then Ridley Scott’s take on the character will live long in the memory after that battle on the beach.

This being said, Robin Hood is getting another update and it’s going in a very different direction to the usual ‘swords and slashing’ approach that we’re used to. This being said, we’ve got high hopes for this one because the director, Otto Bathurst, is responsible for Peaky Blinders and the National Anthem episode of Black Mirror.

Yep, the man that directed the Prime Minister getting ‘tender’ with a pig is now taking on the iconic legend.

We’ve also got the hero from Kingsman and the villain from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story thrown into the mix.

Here’s what’s in store.

Plot’s it all about?: Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance.

Cast: Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin and Jamie Dornan.

Director: Otto Bathurst

Release date: November 21

Enjoy!
