To paraphrase Han Solo’s most pimpalicious line, “You’ll love this. We know”.
This JOE is of the firm opinion that Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back is one of the most influential action films of all time.
Aside from Irvin Kershner’s film setting the thematic and visual template for countless Hollywood blockbusters, it also has all of the following;
An epic ice battle on Hoth, that image of Darth Vader’s burned skin, The Emperor being menacingly cool, Yoda being all Yoda like, AT-AT’s, Han Solo acting the scoundrel, Vader killing his own men, brilliant lightsaber duels, serious daddy issues, cracking chases through Asteroid fields, the space-swag of Lando Calrissian and the baddest of bad-ass bounty hunters in Boba Fett.
I’ll always argue the sheer brilliance of this film right up until my very last breath but until that moment arrives here’s a superb fan made trailer for the classic film.
The imminent trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens has a lot to live up to because this one is cooler than a Tauntaun on Hoth.
