It looks like someone loved the Interstellar trailer anyway…
To begin with, let’s get the elephant-sized cinematic turd in the room out of the way: The original Fantastic Four films in 2005 and 2007 were awful. Truly awful.
That’s why JOE was delighted to see that Josh Trank, director of the wonderful indie comic book film Chronicle, signed on to re-imagine, remake, salvage the reputation, save a lucrative franchise, adapt a new version of the Fantastic Four.
The first trailer looks almost like a shot-for-shot version of the well-known Interstellar trailer that examines mankind’s thirst for knowledge and spirit of adventure.
The film stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and JOE’s friend Toby Kebbell, who is delightful in real life, but a wonderful villain on-screen.
The latest re-imagining of Marvel’s longest-running superhero team focuses on the four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways.
We’re shocked.
This origin story seems like a pretty big departure from the comic books, but this footage is very interesting as we get a brief look at the powers of Sue Storm, Human Torch, Mr Fantastic and The Thing.
Fantastic Four is scheduled to be released in Irish cinemas on August 7 2015.
