According to Jedi Master Yoda, “attachment leads to jealousy, the shadow of greed, that is”, but with all due respect, having seen some of the new memorabilia for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we’re going to instantly turn to the dark side of the Force.
No big surprise, given that our prize possession is Darth Maul’s double-edged lightsaber from Episode I, but that very cool effort might be upstaged by the latest villain in the galaxy.
Kylo Ren’s incredibly slick lightsaber, with an added guard, has taken up most of the talk among Star Wars fans as soon as that first glorious trailer dropped, and Irish fans can now learn loads more about J.J. Abrams’ upcoming epic over the weekend.
Force Friday is currently underway around Ireland at branches of Smyth’s toy store in Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway having merchandise on offer, along with the Disney Store on Grafton St. in Dublin.
