Rise of the Planet of the Apes was one of those summer blockbusters that surprised everyone – by actually being very good. Now, the sequel looks even better.
Granted there’s only so much you can squeeze into a 90 odd second promo, but the filmmakers here look to have done a sterling job following up the surprise box-office smash.
The film stars the absolutely ace Jason Clarke (he kicked ass in Lawless, was class in Zero Dark Thirty) and is directed by Cloverfield and Let Me In helmer, Matt Reeves – who looks to have drenched the production in foreboding atmospherics… and scary apes. Jaysus.
Oh yeah, and some bloke called Gary Oldman makes an appearance. He’s deadly – in case you’ve been living under a cinematic rock for a couple of decades.
We won’t see this until late next summer, but damn are we excited anyway.
