We all know the rules of a trailer right?
Award season is in full flow as the Academy members become susceptible to hyper inflated and cynical marketing campaigns weigh the artistic merits of every film in contention with extreme care and attention.
2014 has seen some brilliant movies released and we can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for us at the cinema.
Trailers have become such a mainstay of JOE’s cinema going experience, don’t keep us late for them because we might kill you, but there is a certain set of rules that they must follow.
For example;
1) They must have an epic voiceover from ‘that guy’, 2) The text on screen usually sums up the entire plot in three sentences, 3) The music must be cinematic and preferably of a classical/sweeping score variety, 4) If they spoil any major plot detail then we will chase the editor with pitchforks.
This mashup trailer adheres to a fair few of these rules while also providing a brief history lesson in some of cinemas most memorable movies.
Batman, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Star Wars and lots more feature in this video and it’s well worth a look.
