16 new deaths confirmed in relation to Covid-19

266 new cases were also confirmed.

16 new deaths and 266 new cases have been confirmed in relation to Covid-19 in Ireland.

Figures released on Monday evening by the Department of Health brings the total of confirmed cases in Ireland to 21,772.

These most recent figures mean that there has now been a total 1,319 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.

Speaking on Sunday, Minister for Health Simon Harris said that we now have the ability to carry out 12,000 tests a day, but the situation overall remains “fragile”.

These numbers have been released days after the Government released its phase-by-phase breakdown, which outlines a roadmap regarding what will be reopened, and when.
