As of midnight, Sunday 23 May, the Department of Health has been notified of 345 new confirmed cases of Covid-19.
Of the 345 new cases, 127 are in hospitals throughout the country.
Of the 127 in hospital, 44 patients are currently being treated in intensive care units (ICU’s). This figure is up by one from yesterday.
The department has said that daily case numbers may change due to future data validation.

Early last Friday, the HSE announced it had temporarily shut down its IT system after it was targeted in a “significant ransomware attack”.
Described as possibly the most significant cybercrime attack on the Irish State by Minister of State for eGovernment Ossian Smyth, it has caused major disruptions to health services across the country.
A further attempted cyber attack was also carried out on the Department of Health last week, following the ransomware attack on the HSE.
The Department of Health confirmed that The National Cyber Security Centre, along with the Gardaí and the Defence Forces, is currently investigating the attacks.
Russian hackers known as Wizard Spider have since claimed responsibility for the most serious ever cyber attack on Ireland’s critical infrastructure, and are reportedly seeking a ransom of up to €20 million in cryptocurrency.
The cyber group is supposedly not motivated by terrorism or espionage and is just seeking money.
