The most recent figures have been released.
79 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed, while no new deaths were recorded.
It brings the total number of confirmed cases to 27,775, with the death toll in the Republic of Ireland remains at 1,776.
43 of Friday’s cases were found in Dublin, nine in Kildare, six in Cork, six in Tipperary and the remaining 15 cases were in Clare, Donegal, Laois, Limerick, Louth, Mayo, Roscommon, Wexford and Wicklow.
Of Friday’s 79 cases:

- 39 are men, 40 are women
- 73% are under 45 years of age
- 30 cases are associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a confirmed case
- 21 have been reported as community transmission
Speaking on Friday, CMO Ronan Glynn said the past few days have been “a very difficult week for people across the country”, while urging people to follow the guidelines over the weekend.
Earlier on Friday, it was announced that local lockdown measures will remain in place in Kildare for two more weeks.
However, it was confirmed that schools in Kildare will be reopening as planned, and that Laois and Offaly’s lockdown measures have ended with immediate effect.
