A kind and lovely gesture from the Donegal man.
Daniel O’Donnell was in the news yesterday after becoming the latest high-profile figure to publicly express his support for a ‘Yes’ vote in the upcoming Marriage Referendum.
The coverage of O’Donnell’s support of the ‘Yes’ vote prompted a Sligo man to relay a tale of the Donegal singer’s kindness and generosity to his aunt and uncle some 18 months ago as they were grieving over the loss of their son in an accident in Seattle 18.
The person who originally posted the story on Twitter wanted to respect the privacy of his aunt and uncle and did not wish to be named, but the story he told is a testament to the kindness and generosity of O’Donnell in extremely tragic circumstances.
It’s well worth a read.
