A man has been arrested over the murder of Eddie Hutch

Gardai made the arrest in Dublin on Monday afternoon.

A man in Dublin has been arrested in a Garda investigation into the murder of Eddie Hutch.

The man, in his 30s, was arrested in the Dublin area and is currently being held at Mountjoy Garda station. He can be detained for up to seven days under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

Eddie Hutch, the brother of notorious gangland figure Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch, was shot dead in Poplar Row, Ballybough on the night of February 8.

It is believed that his murder was in retaliation for the shooting of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin in February.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the shooting to contact the incident room at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01-666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
