A newborn baby has been taken to hospital after being found abandoned in Rathcoole, County Dublin.
A member of the public noticed the baby at a business premises in the west of the city, with the gardaí revealing they had attended the scene of a ‘medical incident’ at around 3.30pm.
The child was examined at the scene and immediately taken to Tallaght Hospital.
The gender of the baby is unknown at this time, and a search for the mother of the child is underway.
