A picture of Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz has emerged online.

In the image, the 28-year-old is seen sitting in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It was taken from his memorial page on Facebook.

According to French prosecutor Brice Robin, Lubitz intentionally flew the airbus into the French Alps, killing all 150 on board instantly on Tuesday morning.

Robin refused to classify Lubitz’ actions as a suicide, and would not comment on his background.

Lubitz had been with Germanwings since September 2013 and had flown a total of 630 hours. There had been ‘an interruption in his training’ for several months before he returned to his education at both the Lufthansa flight school in Bremen and in Phoenix, Arizona.

He had started flying as a teenager.

Images of Lubitz are few and far between, while Mashable have published this screengrab of his Facebook page.
