The flight, which was bound for Mallorca, has since landed safely in Manchester.

UPDATE: Ryanair has released the following statement regarding Flight FR3445 this evening:

“This flight from Manchester to Palma (1 Apr) returned to Manchester shortly after take-off following a minor bird strike. The aircraft landed normally and customers disembarked and were provided with refreshment vouchers. To minimise delay, customers boarded a replacement aircraft which departed to Palma. Ryanair apologised to affected customers for any inconvenience caused.”

A Ryanair flight that left Manchester bound for Palma de Mallorca earlier this evening has landed safely back at Manchester Airport having declared a mid-air emergency shortly after take-off.

According to Manchester Evening News, Flight FR3445 began to circle in the air shortly after departing Manchester Airport, after a minor bird strike caused an emergency to be declared in mid-air.

Footage of the plane circling in the skies above Manchester appeared on social media this evening, while air traffic accounts showed the path taken by the plane shortly after taking off.
