A storm named Barney is set to hit parts of Ireland today

Be careful out there.

Storm Abigail caused trouble in Ireland last week and this week it’s the turn of Storm Barney.

Met Eireann has issued an Orange Alert weather warning for Clare, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Wicklow today.

Anyone in those counties can expects high winds this afternoon with gusts reaching 100-125 km/hr in coastal areas.

The winds will hit the south west of the country first before moving easterly during the day.

There’s a Yellow Alert warning in place for Carlow, Cork, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Meath, Offaly, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath and Wexford.
