What’s next?
Following the end of the count in Longford-Westmeath, we finally have the result of the General Election.
FINAL RESULT OF #GE16:
FG 50
FF 44
SF 23
Labour 7
AAAPBP 6
Inds4Change 4
SocDems 3
Greens 2
unaligned independents 13
Ind Alliance 6— Gavan Reilly (@gavreilly) March 3, 2016
Willie Penrose secured speaking rights in the Dáil for his party as he became Labour’s seventh T.D., while Peter Burke of Fine Gael got in at the expense of Sinn Féin Paul Hogan.
Now for the small matter of seeing what the next government will look like, with Amnesty Ireland’s Colm O’Gorman just one of a number of people predicting that we’ll be going back to the polls within a year.
There you have it folks. The final result of #GE16 & reason why we will soon be using the #GE162 or #GE17 hashtags https://t.co/Vk3LwpWOul
