The NFL defensive lynchpin is currently in Ireland and earlier in the week offered Declan Kidney his services as an option as a number 8. After watching the French game today and the performance of try scorer Jamie Heaslip, he tweeted that it was a good thing he didn’t take to the field in Dublin this evening.

Like the rest of us, the Houstan Texan man felt a little deflated after the match, but did claim to thoroughly enjoy his day at the Aviva, with not even the weather putting a dampener on the occasion.

A man whose game centres on defensive duties can only have been impressed by the heroics in defence by the home team today.
