Bless her innocence.
An American tourist accidentally got stuck in the middle of an Orange Order march while travelling around Ireland.
Going by the name lizwizdom on TikTok, the woman said that she visited Ireland to attend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Dublin and was travelling around the country after the gig.
Liz had been staying in Donegal and was travelling down to Sligo when she made a detour through Rossnowlagh, however she accidentally got caught up in the march.
The Orange Order march takes place in that area in the lead up to the 12th of July, a day of celebration for Ulster Protestants celebrating King William of Orange.
@lizwizdom Can someone please tell me what kept me stuck here for 45 mins 🇮🇪

American tourist accidentally gets stuck in Orange Order parade
However, this was all unbeknownst to poor Liz, who uploaded a TikTok of herself bopping along to the tin whistles and drums of the parade.
Liz admits that she had no idea what the march was for and thought it was just a “regular Irish parade”.
She can even be seen wearing a tricolour wristband from the Taylor Swift concert in the video.

The 30-year-old American said that she accidentally got caught up in the Orange Order march after her car’s GPS led her and her family straight onto the parade route.
“There were hundreds of coach buses and absolutely nowhere to go. My dad was not happy that we ended up parked in the middle of the road for 40 minutes.
“I saw a lot of orange but I just thought you know America has red, white and blue, Ireland has green, white and orange. Turns out there’s a lot more to it than that.”

Responding to a viewer on TikTok, she added: “I didn’t know that this was a controversial thing. I thought I just stumbled upon a parade out in the Irish countryside, turns out major politically divisive situation going on.
“How was I to know? For context, I am an American who was in Dublin for the Eras Tour.”
Definitely one of the funniest things we’ve seen in a long time.
