It’s not the first time that his has happened in recent times.
An Airbus A320 Aer Lingus flight from Dublin was nearly struck by a drone as it approached Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.
According to RTÉ, the plane was at an altitude of 2,300 metres, just 50km shy of its destination, before the pilot reportedly witnessed a drone fly just 150m below.
Despite French regulations prohibiting the use of drones flying above 150m, an even closer near miss occurred back in February at the same airport when an Air France flight and a drone avoided one another by just five metres, forcing the pilot to perform an emergency manoeuvre to avoid a collision.
There was also a similar incident near Heathrow Airport in more recent times, calling into the question the future of drone usage.
