An Taoiseach Enda Kenny pens moving tribute to the victims of the Berkeley tragedy

Enda Kenny has signed the book of condolence for the victims of Tuesday’s tragedy in Berkeley.

An Taoiseach bids ‘Slán abhaile’ to Nick Schuster, Eimear Walsh, Eoghan Culligan, Eimear Walsh, Ashley Donohue and Lorcán Miller, who were killed in Berkeley, California on Tuesday.

Writing in Irish, he reflects the sadness of the nation and says that the spirits of the young victims will live on in the minds of the Irish people.

The message translates roughly as: ‘My genuine respect to you all – may the spirit of freedom always be with the young people of Ireland, safe home.’
