This is weird.
Do you use many emojis when you’re texting?
A study by Match.com says that people who tend to use more than one emoji per message think about sex more often. 5,000 people were surveyed and those who refrained from emoji-use also spent less time thinking about sex.
This seems to corroborate a previous study taken by Match.com which said that people who used more emojis had more sex.
It’s not clear why this would be, but maybe people who forego words in favour of emojis are just better at getting to the point.
Lead researcher Dr Helen Fisher said: “Here we have a new technology that absolutely jeopardizes your ability to express your emotion… there is no more subtle inflection of the voice … and so we have created another way to express emotions and that is the emoji”.
