Bakery gets it so wrong with this birthday cake photo mix up

When you leave photos on a USB stick at a bakers to make you a photographic cake, you don’t expect the finished article to look like this…

Birthdays are important events, so it’s nice to do something special for your loved ones on their special day. JOE came across this fantastic tweet today from @olivia_solon, and while it may be knocking around for some time, we thought it was too good not too share.

A woman brought a USB key storing a photo she wanted to get put on the cake to a bakery. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication and it seems the bakery staff didn’t quite understand what she wanted.

When she went to collect her cake, she was presented with a tasty looking cake, but one which showed a picture of her USB key, and not the friend’s face she was hoping for.

This is one of those moments when you expect Homer Simpson to walk in and say “Doh.” We’ve no idea if she kept the cake or not, but we’re wondering what went through the mind of the baker when they were creating the very detailed picture. Perhaps they thought it was for a computer fanatic? Or a party at Google or IBM?

It’s still artistry at its best.
