Barack Obama has ordered a “full review” into hacking-relating activity aimed at disrupting November’s US Presidential election.
He expects to have the results of the review before he leaves office on January 20, next year according to a top White House official.
“We may be crossed into a new threshold and it is incumbent upon us to take stock of that, to review, to conduct some after-action, to understand what this means, what has happened and to impart those lessons learned,” Obama’s counter-terrorism and homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco told Politico.
There have been claims over the past number of months that the Russian government influenced the US election through the hacking of Democratic officials and political committees.
