Fungie the dolphin has picked up a deep cut on his body, likely as a result of coming into contact with the blade of a boat.
Facebook page Fungie Forever has posted a message asking fans of the dolphin not to panic, adding that the wound “looks deep, wide and red but we have seen deeper wounds on other dolphins that healed quite well.”
The page also added that the wound doesn’t seem to be bothering much.
The statement goes on to say that they aren’t pointing any fingers over the injury, and that Fungie is sometimes attracted to visiting boats that have newer and faster propellors.
The status was posted to Facebook alongside two pictures of the cut, which is located over his dorsal fin.
