The move follows a similar announcement made by pub chain Wetherspoons in recent weeks.
Thai food restaurant and takeaway chain Camile has announced a range of lower-cost meal deals.
Available on the Camile app with offers starting from €4.99, the chain said that the changes were made to help its customers impacted by the rising cost of living.
It added that the new special menu features a host of its signature dishes, with over 20 available to choose from.
“These special offers will see families make savings of up to 20% when they gather together at the end of a busy week to enjoy a ‘Family Meal Deal’ or ‘Sweet Mini Meal Deal’,” Camile said.
“Couples on the go will also benefit when they order a healthy mid-week meal for less or choose a romantic night in with a ‘Date Night Deal’ including a bottle of wine.
“‘Starter Packs’ to share with friends, great tasting low-calorie specials to help you stay on track and ‘Very Vegan’ offers also feature on this exclusive new Camile Meal Deal menu with further savings at the Camile app checkout for Thai food enthusiasts just ‘Crazy for Curry’, hungry students looking for a great ‘Student Meal Deal’ or those hoping to ‘Bag a Spice Bag Deal’ with collection only Meal Deals starting from as little as €4.99,” the statement added.

- MEAL DEAL FOR ONE (€17.50) – One main course, one vegetable spring roll and one drink
- THE STARTER PACK (€25.00) – One tiffin, two sides, two nibbles and two drinks
- SWEET MINI DEAL (€31.00) – Three kids’ meals, three ice-creams, and three drinks
- MEAL DEAL FOR TWO (€34.00) – Two main courses, a three-piece vegetable spring roll box and two drinks
- VERY VEGAN MEAL DEAL (€34.00) – Two vegan mains, one vegetarian side, one nibble and two drinks
- THE CONTRADICTION (€34.00) – Two under 600 calorie meals and two desserts to keep you sweet
- DATE NIGHT DEAL (€42.00) – Two mains plus a bottle of wine.
- CAMILE FAMILY MEAL DEAL (€55.00) – Three main courses, a six-piece vegetable spring roll, a large pack of Thai brown prawn crackers, and four drinks
Meanwhile, collection only meal deals include:
- ON A ROLL (€4.99) – Three spring rolls
- STUDENT MEAL DEAL (€9.99) – Dan Dan Noodles, two spring rolls and one drink
- SPICY DEAL (€13.50) – Spice bag, one can, one dip
- CRAZY FOR CURRY (€21.00) – One large curry with two rice and two drinks
“Everyone’s feeling the impact of increasing costs, with a lot of uncertainty out there,” Camile’s Managing Director Daniel Greene said in a statement.
“So, it was really important for us to develop these special meal deals to offer value and choice to our loyal Camile customers on all their favourite Camile dishes.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, pub operator Wetherspoons announced a range of “money-saving lunch and drinks deals” in its nine venues across Ireland which you can read about here.
