The new man’s already in place and Heisenberg’s a fictional character so it could never happen, but the image of the Breaking Bad drug lord as head of the Catholic Church is still a chilling one indeed.
In the wake of the election of Pope Francis I last night, there was an inevitable stream of pictures, memes and other humorous snippets about the Argentinean, who went from a humble cardinal to the main man in the Catholic Church overnight.
The appearance of a few John Terry as Pope photoshops came as little surprise, while a few memes imagining Fran from Love/Hate as the Pontiff were pretty amusing from an Irish point of view.
The best we have came across so far, however, was a tweet from Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, who does a brilliant job as the character Walter White, or Heisenberg, from the incredibly popular AMC series.
Posting a picture of the Walter White character clad in the Pope’s garbs rather than his traditional yellow jumpsuit, Cranston created a chilling scenario with Heisenberg as Pope, although he is technically the head of an organisation and is well used to white smoke so maybe he’s not so far off the mark.

Habemus Papam… bitch.
