Investigations are ongoing.
Two men and three youths have been arrested in connection with criminal activities following a search operation on Saturday (20 August).
The operation was carried out in Cherry Orchard, and aimed to “disrupt, detect and prevent recurring criminal activities in the area”.
These activities include stealing cars, causing criminal damage, driving dangerously, and general public disorder.
A number of residences in Cherry Orchard were searched by Gardaí attached to Ballyfermot Garda Station, along with support from the Armed Support Unit, Air Support Unit and members from Clondalkin and Rathcoole Garda Stations.
During the course of these searches, five young men were arrested and detained at different Garda Stations in south Dublin.
Three of the arrested men were juvenile teens and two were in their 20s.
All five have been charged for a variety of offences and appeared before a special sitting of the Criminal Court of Justice on Saturday.
