An Irishman has been arrested in Melbourne after threatening people with a meat cleaver on St Kilda’s street, Melbourne. It’s reported that he was threatening to smash windows after being thrown out of a nearby bar for drunken behaviour.
After pointing the weapon at various people, police drew their weapons and managed to peacefully detain him.
7 News are reporting that the Irishman had only arrived in Australia a few weeks ago.
No one was hurt during the incident and the man was charged $2,500.
