The incident occurred on Friday.
A man in his 20s has died following a fatal road traffic collision that took place in Meath on Friday 21 December.
Gardaí attended the scene at Boynabought, Kilmainhamwood in Kells just after 8pm on Friday where a 24-year-old male passenger was fatally injured in a crash between two cars.
The 24-year-old male driver and the male driver of the other vehicle were both taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where both are being treated for their injuries.
No other persons were involved in the incident.
The road in Boynabought is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
The coroner has been notified of the death.
