Faulty ATM starts spitting out free money to customers

How come this never happens to us?

How come this never happens to us?

Lloyd’s Bank ATM in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, started giving out free cash due to a machine fault on Wednesday morning, with more than 60 people queueing up to avail of its generosity before the fault was spotted by bosses.

The cash machine was eventually put out of service around 3pm, but not before a significant amount of cash money had already made its way into the local taverns and haberdasherys.

A spokesperson for the bank refused to disclose how much money was lost, but said an investigation was under way, according to the Express and Star.

And the best part? It is not thought that those who took the money will be expected to give it back.

“We’re aware that an error occurred with a Lloyds Bank ATM in Mansfield Woodhouse, resulting in the ATM distributing incorrect amounts of cash.

“The ATM is now out of service and the error is being investigated.”

(Cheers to Darren Creaven for bringing this to our attention)
