This guy isn’t exactly flavour of the month in Derrygonnelly right now.

A 19-year old man in Derrygonnelly in Fermanagh appeared in Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday to face charges for stealing a packet of crisps in an Asda store in Enniskillen in September of this year.

According to the Fermanagh Herald, Jeremy McCordick from Derrygonnelly pleaded guilty to theft in relation to the incident on September 2, when he entered the Asda store with another man, took a packet of ham worth £1 into the toilet and ate the contents.

He subsequently took a packet of crisps, left the store without paying for them and ate them outside.

Mr. McCordick was fined £100 and ordered to pay £2 in compensation to Asda and was warned by District Judge Nigel Broderick that he risked a custodial sentence if he reoffended.

Judge Broderick said that while the amount of goods stolen might appear small to the casual observer, any theft was a serious offence and that McCordick was not helped in this case by his previous record.
