The flight recommenced its journey after the passengers were removed.
A flight from Brussels to New York was diverted to Dublin Airport yesterday due to two separate incidents on board.
United Airlines flight UA998 from the Belgian capital to Newark airport diverted to Dublin on Monday, June 3, because of a disruptive passenger and a suspected medical issue.
Daa, the operator of Dublin Airport, confirmed that Gardaí, the National Ambulance Service and HSE personnel were all alerted and met the aircraft upon arrival.
The disruptive passenger was removed from the plane, as well as the separate passenger who had a medical issue and a passenger travelling with them, before the plane recommenced its journey on Monday evening.

Flight diverted to Dublin Airport after two separate incidents on board
In a statement to JOE on Tuesday morning, Kevin Cullinane, Deputy Director of Communications at daa, said: “Flight UA998 from Brussels to New York’s Newark Airport diverted to Dublin Airport yesterday afternoon due to reports of two separate incidents – a disruptive passenger and a suspected medical issue – on board.
“Appropriate protocols were put in place by Dublin Airport Operations and Airport Police for the arrival of the aircraft and Gardaí (Irish Police), National Ambulance Service and Health Service Executive personnel met the aircraft on arrival.
“Medical personnel investigated and cleared the flight to continue with the removal of one disruptive passenger, one ill passenger and one other person traveling with the ill passenger.
“The flight subsequently re-departed for New York/Newark. There was no impact on operations at Dublin Airport.”
