He was killed by a KAPOW! apparently.
31-year-old Stephen Merrill died unexpectedly last week in Florida and the cause of death is unknown.
The post-mortem has still not happened so his family and friends, when sitting down to write his obituary decided to have a bit of fun.
You might think that’s a tad insensitive, but Stephen himself, according to his family and friends, found humour in almost everything.
A devoted comic book fan, his family said he would have wanted people to get a laugh from his obituary.
And….today in Florida, cause of death listed as Batman. @PLoker @JennyBangBang4 pic.twitter.com/V2XvA0cuC7

The obituary read: ‘Stephen Merrill, 31, passes away February 12, 2015, due to an uppercut from Batman.’
At the funeral, the congregation wore superhero t-shirts and the service itself featured a quote from The Avengers.
