Four more people have sadly died.
This evening’s briefing of the National Public Health Emergency Team has revealed that four more people have sadly died due to Covid-19 in Ireland. The latest figures bring the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Ireland to 1,683.
Additionally, nine further cases of the virus have been confirmed, which takes the total number of known cases in the Republic of Ireland to 25,207. This takes into account three cases which were denotified in the past 24 hours.
As part of Ireland’s reopening strategy, public briefings from the NPHET are being scaled back, and the next one will take place on Thursday.

Earlier today, it was announced that Northern Ireland had gone without recording any new deaths for the second day in a row.
