Four lads aim to visit all 32 counties of Ireland in 24 hours for Crumlin Hospital

Eric Lalor

In the early hours of Sunday the 9th of March, four lads (Franko, Paddy, Cathal and Max) will set off from Ireland’s bottom right corner on a quest to cross the borders of all 32 counties in a 24 hour window.

This challenge has been put down to raise as much money as possible for Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital and every cent will go towards the renovation of the severely outdated outpatients unit.

The lads (Max Rantz-McDonald, Franko Mc Swiney, Cathal O’Brien, Paddy Rhatigan) have gotten some great local backing with Classic Hymer Hire sponsoring the old school camper van (pic below) in the form of ‘Bonny’, Blackrock SuperValu are stocking up the van with food, Red Bull the energy and Maxol petrol generously filling up their tank the whole way around the country.

They are fundraising and giving away tickets to the Heineken Cup Final outside the Sandymount Hotel tomorrow before the Ireland match so keep an eye out for them. and will set off from there to their starting point in Waterford. Pictures will be taken at each border crossing (Geo-tagged to provide proof and authenticity)
