When will people get the message?
Despite the obvious danger they pose to themselves and other road users, there’s still a small percentage of motorists in Ireland that continue to drive under the influence of alcohol.
Just over a week ago, there was an incident in Kildare where Gardaí had to take evasive action from an oncoming drunk driver.

The driver was subsequently arrested and charged for their actions but it was a eery reminder of the dangers drink drivers pose.
Gardaí more recently stopped a car that was travelling at 130km/h in a 50km/h zone.
The car was travelling in Waterford and upon stopping the car, it was discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was arrested and will appear in court over their actions.
