A 20-year-old man was arrested and a loaded shotgun has been seized following a Garda search operation in Dublin.
The operation was conducted after a firearms incident that occurred on Saturday night (30 October) at Brookfield Road in Tallaght.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said a firearm was discharged at a residential property at around 10.30pm. No people were injured during the incident.
As a result of Garda investigations, two search warrants were obtained pursuant to Section 29 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 to search two properties in Tallaght.
The operation took place on Wednesday afternoon (3 November) and during the course of the search, a loaded shotgun was seized.
The 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 and is currently detained at Tallaght Garda station.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
