Gardaí have warned people against revealing holiday details on social media

Carl Kinsella

We’re all guilty of it…

In the age of technology, where sharing every good thing that happens to us with everyone we know is a crucial component of life itself, it’s hard to resist keeping a sunny holiday to oneself.

However, Gardai are now warning social media users not to broadcast their poolside cocktails or exquisite exotic banquets with the rest of the world.

Police in Kildare have said that making the world aware you’re not at home for an extended period of time increases the likelihood of break-ins.

According to Kildare Now, a spokesperson for the Gardai said:

“It’s better to be safe than sorry. It’s time enough to put up holiday updates on social media when you return home from being away.”
So if you’re in Dublin Airport this morning and thinking about checking in ahead of two weeks away, maybe save yourself the stress and make us all jealous upon your return.
