Very sad news.
A man has been found dead at his home in Laois.
Gardai attended an incident at Wolfhill, Laois on Wednesday afternoon around 3pm.
It’s understood that the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) attended the scene following reports of a firearm being discharged.
Gardaí are now investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 40s. No other person is being sought in relation to the incident.
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) have been notified of the investigation and the office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.
Gardaí are awaiting the results of the post mortem to determine the course of the investigation.
