The allegations against the country singer have been made by his former hair and makeup artist.
Country singer Garth Brooks has issued a statement in which he denies the rape and sexual assault allegations that have been made against him.
The accuser, who is using the pseudonym ‘Jane Roe’, made the allegations in a lawsuit filed in California state court.
According to various reports, in her lawsuit, she claims that Brooks raped her in 2019 in a hotel room while she was employed as a hair and makeup artist for the country singer.
She also alleges in the lawsuit that Brooks repeatedly exposed himself to her, groped her and made sexually explicit comments to her during her employment with the country singer between 2017 and 2020.

Litigation regarding the matter began last month, when Brooks filed an anonymous pre-emptive lawsuit in Mississippi federal court.
In the court filings in this case, Brooks – then going by John Doe – claimed that the allegations were untrue and were designed to extort money from him.
He urged the judge to stop the publication of the “false allegations of sexual misconduct” by the woman, stating that they would “irreparably harm [his] reputation, family, career, and livelihood”.
On Thursday (3 October), however, Jane Roe’s lawyers filed their 27-page legal action in Los Angeles Superior Court.
In a statement to the BBC regarding the allegations, Brooks said:
“For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.
“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of—ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
“I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”
