The George nightclub was the victim of sick vandalism last night

The George Nightclub on George’s Street was the victim of an attack of vandalism last night as a number of homophobic messages were written on the exterior of the building.

The outside of the iconic Dublin gay bar was scrawled with white chalk along with homophobic and derogatory writing. The incident happened just days before the two year anniversary of the historic marriage referendum in Ireland.

Speaking to JOE, a Garda Spokesperson confirmed that they’re aware of the incident but no investigation is underway at the moment as no official complaint has been made by the owners of the venue.

It’s understood that the crude and stupidly written messages of homophobia have been wiped away from the outside of the premises.
