Kent Police confirmed the news this evening.
Finnegan, originally from Dublin, but who now lives in London and works as a community rugby coach for London Irish, had been missing since Wednesday after disappearing from his home in Greenwich.
Concerns were raised after Finnegan posted some disturbing messages on his Twitter account, prompting a search by Kent Police and a Twitter campaign under the hashtag #FindMickFinn.
Reports on social media that he had been found overnight proved to be premature, but this evening, a number of people reported having been contacted directly from Mick’s phone, including Irish comedian Jarlath Regan, who recently interviewed Mick for his podcast, an Irishman Abroad.
I have received a whatsapp message from Mick's phone that says he is ok and in hospital. Can't confirm 100% if it is him. #FindMickFinn

According to the messages I have received the police are aware he is safe and in hospital. #FindMickFinn
